The Bloch Building at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City

The Bloch building, the Steven Holl addition to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri, is one of my favorite buildings of the last few years. Here are a few pictures, but like any great building, the photos don't do it justice. You really need to see it. There's actually a pretty good collection of art there as well, including a fantastic Rauschenberg and an amazing Nevelson, so block out a full day. You'll want to visit the "old" museum to see the Thomas Hart Benton collection as well. Even the parking garage is worth the visit!

  1. I really like the architecture of Nelson-Atkins Museum. The building itself is truly a piece of art.
