My Top 9 of 2012

Here's some of my favorite music from 2012. I'm a dinosaur in that I still listen to entire 'albums', so if it's not solid front-to-back, I probably won't listen to it very much. Overall, I thought it was a pretty thin year in music- but here's my Top 9. Cheers! H.N.Y.!

New House in West Meade Area, Nashville, Tennessee

This house that we designed in the West Meade area in Nashville, Tennessee is nearing completion. The client requested a house with very clean lines and a traditional feel- sort of an updated farmhouse design. Interior spaces are as open as possible given a somewhat compartmentalized program that required a certain amount of separation for special needs children, whose bedrooms surround an open playroom and are near a bedroom for live-in childcare assistance. The main level also consists of an open Living Room/Dining Room space, a Kitchen, a Study/Office, an Owner's Suite, and a Two Car Garage. The Upper Level includes a Bedroom, a Study/Television Space and an Apartment Suite. Cliff House in Monteagle, Tennessee

Here are some preliminary elevations for a new house near Monteagle Tennessee. It's a little bit Mountain Cabin, a little bit Louisiana (the clients are from New Orleans), a little bit "mine-shaft", and a bit contemporary. A covered deck extends nearly the full length toward the cliff-side views.

 I'm including some of my personal "unprofessional" photos in this blog installment- I have and extreme emotional attachment to this house, so my interest is a little more personal and detail oriented. I also really enjoy the way this house has grown and aged, and how it has been further personalized by an amazing client.
