New Mediterranean Inspired Home in Forest Hills Tennessee

I say Mediterranean....but is it? I think this home we designed in 2015/2016 in the Forest Hills area of Nashville Tennessee somewhat defies description when it comes to a particular style...and much of what we do is difficult to label. There are cues from Tuscan homes, residences in Provence, Italianate Villas and even Arts and Crafts sources- but they come together to create a comfortable, unified contemporary home that exhibits coziness and livability. Comfort and familiarity starts at the recessed, arched front entry porch and continues to the foyer that splits the private and "public" parts of the house- a master bedroom suite, a private study, and the stair to the upper level bedrooms is to the left, and formal and informal dining areas, family room, wine room, kitchen and utility functions are to the right through a series of arches. A breezeway separates the main house from the garage area and serves as an access from the driveway and car court to the back courtyard and terraces. The guest rooms upstairs have lovely views to the row of pines that sit in front of the house, and share a roof top terrace that overlooks the back yard and embraces views to the distant hills beyond.
